The main goal of our community is to share stories, inspire others, and give useful information in supporting digital nomads around Italy. For that reason, we share digital nomad stories, and have a list of co-living and co-working spaces around the Bel Paese.
But what if you’d like to work from a coffee shop instead?
That’s where our friends from Coffee & Work come in. Coffee & Work is a website that lists and regularly rates cafes based on two criteria:
- Coffee, with special attention to the specialty coffee scene
- Laptop-friendliness, measured as objectively as possible
The initiative was born out of a simple but strong need that we’re sure our community can relate to: the difficulty in finding reliable information on cafes to work from – a very sought after solution by digital nomads who don’t want to pay for a co-working space or work from home all the time.
All too often you search online only to find reviews that are out-of-date, unreliable and – in the best of cases – highly subjective.
Tired of finding themselves in coffeeshops with loud music, no plugs and patchy internet, Sarah and Lawrance, the founders of the Coffee & Work project, decided to do something about it.
On Coffee & Work you’ll find objective ratings given by an algorithm based on a variety of useful parameters such as:
- Noise levels
- Seating capacity
- Power outlet availability
- Internet speed
- Natural light
And for coffee enthusiasts, also ratings and notes on the kind of coffee being served (full points for cafes offering specialty coffee!).
Having been launched only a few months ago, Coffee & Work is mainly covering the cities of Rome and Milan, but the long-term plan is to become a sort of “Michelin Guide” for laptop-friendly coffee shops around Italy and, eventually, Europe.
If you are the kind of Nomad that likes to work from cafes and would like to contribute to this exciting project, do not hesitate to get in touch with them! The community of Digital Nomads will be thankful.
