If you would have told me that I would be living this life by my thirties, I would have not believed you for a hot second. But let’s start from the beginning…
Hi, I am Elena, I come from Italy and I am also Australian (naturalised).
How did this happen? Well, in 2011 I started my first job in a web agency in Gorizia (Italy), where I learned for the first time about SEM and social media. Just a year later, I decided to live the experience of a lifetime: I left my job and moved to Australia, more specifically to Perth, where I ended up living for 9 years.
Here is where my career actually kicked off as I worked for multiple agencies, gaining lots of experience.Thanks to the first agency that hired me, I was able to get a sponsorship and eventually become a citizen. Despite all of this was not planned, I’m very happy with how my experience abroad went and what I have achieved, personally and career wise.
I started my new chapter as a Digital Nomad in July 2021 when I decided it was time to move back to Italy, after the whole pandemic situation. My main reason was being able to be closer to my family. I was very lucky that the agency I was working for in Perth allowed me to work remotely for them.
This new way of living is now my lifestyle.
I learned in the past two years to work independently while being professional and responsible despite the physical distance. And it allowed me to be where I want to be, to do what I want to do, with the people I love the most. Simply priceless!
Since moving back to Europe I have worked from other cities in Italy, as well as Spain and Croatia – and there will be more for sure. I like to collaborate with my peers and learn from them as well, especially because for the majority I worked in the Australian market and now I’m facing the challenges of working with European companies.
Fast forward to the present: I am now a Digital Strategist specialised in SEM with 13+ years of experience with a passion for Social Media, SEO and CRO, and all things digital.
